About me
I have been working as a GIS professional for the past 19 years and have been passionate about geography as long as I can remember. I work as a GIS Specialist and Developer at Michael Baker International, where I work on a team that creates websites, interactive maps, and desktop mapping applications for topics ranging from flood risk analysis to 911 data management. My passion, though, is in geohumanities and developing interactive tools to bring historic maps and data to life. In 2019, I co-presented on merging GIS and genealogy to rebuild the lost community of Homestead, Pennsylvania. In 2021, I got my first freelance work mapping the history of the telegraph and am excited to share our map this year! I'm always up for a new collaboration!
I've been a part of NACIS ever since it came to Pittsburgh in 2014 and the conference inspired me to earn post-graduate degrees at the University of Kentucky and UW-Madison. NACIS is my biggest source of cartographic inspiration every year and I'm looking forward to seeing all the incredible projects our community has created.
