About me
This spring the University of Iowa Press published my new book, Clock and Compass: How John Byron Plato Gave Farmers a Real Address; they did an excellent job with editing and design and have priced it affordably (under $20). Though Plato was a “minor figure” in the history of cartography, he developed a clever innovation and left an engaging life story. My new project (not quite half complete) has the working title Electricity and Maps, and many of its chapters are being developed (initially at least) as oral presentations (but fully scripted) at meetings like NACIS 2022. Suggestions for a publisher, anyone?
