About me
I serve in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps, currently holding the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. I have served through one full sea tour on the NOAA ship Thomas Jefferson, primarily conducting hydrographic survey through out the East Coast including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean's. I am currently the East Coast Technical Liaison for NOAA's Hydrographic field units.
My background includes significant earth science and teaching. My undergrad was in Geology and Hydrogeology and I spent a year as a High School teacher. My passion for teaching as persisted through my career in NOAA as I have renovated serval education programs. My passion for earth science remains as I peruse a masters in GIS and a certification in Cartography. I have learned that to better understand the earth I have to not only know field work knowledge but also be competent in computer and lab work techniques and software.
In my free time I am often working on small art and practice projects in local maker spaces. I have won a few awards for my small art projects, these awards are my most proud accomplishments. When not working on projects I enjoy the outdoors on hikes with my wife and dogs.
